The Real Me

"A teacher's finest quality is her gift of intrinsically rewarding her students with knowledge.  Her ability to teach in an exciting and engaging manner is a reward to her students in itself."

"I believe that every student is capable of learning.  It is never a matter of how intelligent a student is.  The question to answer is how is a student intelligent."

Belief about Learning

One of the keys to releasing a student’s full potential in learning in the classroom is to understand the ways in which he might learn.

Belief about assessments

Just as the aspects of student evaluation vary so do the purposes of such assessments.

"With the final bell still resounding in my ears, I am happy with this unit.  Adjustments were made, sometimes during class, to meet the needs of the students.  Content was added or deleted to accommodate individual learning styles.  Assessments were given to determine levels of comprehension throughout.  As the unit is filed away, I am confident that what the students learned from me, but more important, what I learned from my students; will not be collecting dust anytime soon.  For the day I stop learning from my students will be the day I turn in my classroom key."  (from Teacher Work Sample-Reflection and Self Evaluation)
